About PBF

Hi!

Pickleball Forums is run by me, Andrew Lenz, of Santa Cruz, California. Why am I doing this? I'm offering an organized home to discuss the sport I love. Yes, there's Facebook and other social media and while those are great, they have some drawbacks—mostly involving massive amounts of scrolling.
So why an online forum?
  • Here we have logical categories to keep things in their place. Discuss fast and efficiently.
  • You can quickly jump right to new posts via the list of New Posts or Unread Posts. (Under "Quick Links" at the upper left corner.)
  • Anonymity. While we’d like you to use your real name, you can easily use an alias. (More honest discussions at times.)
  • It’s very easy to locate any topic with the advanced Search features.
  • You get to see everything! Posts are listed purely chronologically by activity, not some mysterious algorithm that decides what you see—or don’t see!
  • Not everyone wants to be on Facebook. (Shocking, I know!)
  • We don’t track your location or sell your data to advertisers. You have privacy here. (Unlike FB.)
  • Facebook is not accessible on some networks. We are everywhere.
  • Here you can format your text! (Including bullet point lists like this one!)
  • There are lots of options to customize exactly how posts display and how you get notifications.
I hope you and many others find this forum useful as I've personally found forums on other topics to be.

Me? I started playing pickleball in January of 2017. I've been an active moderator on a bagpiping forum since late 2003—just over 15 years as I type this—so I'm no stranger to the ins and outs of administrating an online forum. This is a different software package than I'm used to, but I'm figuring it out!

If you are curious, you can learn about my pickleball experience from the very beginning by reading my blog: PickleballJourney.com.

Thanks!
